Zemora

Zemora is a culturally rich and politically divided coastal city located on the eastern shores of Askaria, a region known for its contested history between the Realm of Eros and the Jagradian Empire.

the City of Zemora

History

Founded roughly a century ago as part of Erosian colonial expansion, Zemora quickly grew into a vital hub of trade, art, and diplomacy. Though geographically in Jagradian territory—what the locals call Zaramûn—it remains dominated by the Erosian elite, a fact that fuels continuous tension between the two ethnic groups.

The city is built into terraced hills above a crescent-shaped harbor, protected by white-stone seawalls and a line of watchtowers. It features marble temples, winding marketplaces, and lush villa gardens overlooking the Sea of Aramon. Its most sacred location is the Terrace of Winds, a promontory used for both prayer and punishment located just outside the city.

Zemora is governed by Tiberion Axelos, son of Erasthanos Axelos who surrendered the city to Jagrad. Though Tiberion bears the title of governor, power is slipping through his fingers. Civil unrest, religious hostility, and foreign pressure threaten to tear the city apart. In response, Tiberion recently enlisted the help of Kaelion “The Mercenary” and his infamous band of sell-swords, The Lost Falcons, to restore order—though some believe this move has only hastened Zemora’s descent into chaos.
